Refund policy

Return & Refund Policy

Effective date: 1/1/2026

This Return & Refund Policy (“Policy”) applies to all purchases made through Peak Time Garage (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order, you agree to this Policy in full.

1) Definitions (Read This First)

For clarity, the following definitions apply:

Digital Products: Any downloadable product, including sample packs, presets, one-shots, loops, MIDI, project files, stems, and any other digital files.
Physical Products: Any non-digital item, including vinyl records and other curated retail goods.
Third-Party Fulfilled Products: Physical Products sourced and shipped by independent distributors/suppliers (not shipped by us).
Delivered / Made Available (Digital): When a download link, file access, or digital delivery is provided to the customer (whether or not the customer downloads it).
Verified Purchase: When we confirm the order exists and matches the customer’s checkout identity details (see Section 3).

2) Digital Products — Strict No Refunds / No Returns

2.1 All Digital Sales Are Final

All sales of Digital Products are final.
We do not offer refunds, returns, exchanges, credits, replacements, or price adjustments for Digital Products once they have been Delivered / Made Available.

This includes (without limitation):

  • “Change of mind”

  • “Bought the wrong pack”

  • “I didn’t like it / not what I expected”

  • “I don’t know how to use the files”

  • “My device/software can’t open it”

  • “I didn’t mean to purchase”

  • “I found it cheaper elsewhere”

  • “I didn’t read the product description”

Digital Products are treated as non-returnable goods.

2.2 What Counts as “Delivered / Made Available”

Digital Products are considered Delivered / Made Available when any of the following occurs:

  • A download link is shown after checkout

  • A download link is sent by email

  • Files are accessible in a customer account

  • Access is granted by any method we provide

Downloading is not required for delivery to be considered completed.

2.3 No Refunds for Partial Use or Timing

We do not refund Digital Products for:

  • Partial downloads

  • Delayed downloads

  • Later regret

  • Requests made after the product has been Delivered / Made Available

3) Digital Products — The Only Exception: Technical Access Issues

3.1 Support Is Limited to Access Restoration (Not Refunds)

If you experience a genuine technical issue preventing access (e.g., broken link, missing file, wrong file attached, corrupted file as delivered), our sole obligation is to attempt to restore access by re-sending links or re-providing the correct files.

This exception does not create a right to a refund.
Refunds still do not apply to Digital Products.

3.2 Verification Is Mandatory Before Any Assistance

To prevent fraud and protect customers, we only assist with access issues after a Verified Purchase.

To qualify for verification, the customer must provide:

  • Name used at checkout

  • Email used at checkout

  • Order number (required if requested by us)

If the details do not match our records, we will not provide files, links, replacements, or assistance.

3.3 No File Replacement Without Verification

We do not send digital files to:

  • Alternate email addresses not used at checkout

  • “Friend / manager / label / engineer” emails

  • New emails “because I lost access”

until verification is completed.

3.4 Time Limits for Access Issues

Access issues must be reported within a reasonable time after purchase. If you report an issue long after purchase, we may be unable to restore access due to expired links, discontinued products, platform limitations, or supplier changes. In such cases, no refund is owed.

3.5 Digital Compatibility & Customer Responsibility

Digital Products are provided in the file formats stated on the product page. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure their device, storage, internet connection, and software can access and use the files.

We do not provide refunds for:

  • software/device incompatibility

  • unsupported software versions

  • lack of knowledge on how to use the files

  • insufficient storage space

  • internet, ISP, network, firewall, or download-blocking issues

  • failure to download or access files due to the customer’s environment

3.6 Purchaser-Only Access

Digital Products and download support are provided to the purchaser only and are non-transferable.

4) Physical Products — Third-Party Fulfilled (Curated Retail / Vinyl)

4.1 We Do Not Ship or Hold Third-Party Stock

Some Physical Products sold on our store are Third-Party Fulfilled Products. We curate and list these items, but we do not manufacture them, stock them, or ship them.

By purchasing a Third-Party Fulfilled Product, you acknowledge that:

  • Inventory levels are controlled by the third-party distributor

  • Shipping, handling, delivery timelines, and tracking are managed by the distributor/carrier

  • Customs/import duties (if any) are the customer’s responsibility

  • Delays caused by carriers, customs, weather, or distributor operations are outside our direct control

4.2 Returns / Exchanges for Third-Party Fulfilled Products

Returns, exchanges, and discretionary refunds for Third-Party Fulfilled Products (if offered at all) are subject to the distributor’s policies, conditions, and timeframes.

We do not guarantee that returns or exchanges are available for any Third-Party Fulfilled Product.

5) The Only Guaranteed Vinyl Refund Exception: Out-of-Stock

5.1 Out-of-Stock = Order Cancelled + Refund

If a Third-Party Fulfilled Product is confirmed out of stock and cannot be fulfilled, the order will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued for that item.

5.2 Refund Timing

Refunds for confirmed out-of-stock cancellations are issued within 7 business days after the cancellation is confirmed.

After the refund is issued, your bank/payment provider may take additional time to post the refund. That processing time is outside our control.

6) Incorrect Address / Failed Delivery (Physical)

If a Physical Product shipment fails due to:

  • incorrect address entered at checkout

  • refusal of delivery

  • failure to collect the parcel

  • or any customer-caused delivery issue

we are not responsible for replacement, re-shipping, or refunds unless the distributor provides a resolution and funds are recoverable.

6.1 Duplicate Orders & Ordering Errors

Customers are responsible for reviewing their cart and checkout details before completing an order. We do not provide refunds for ordering errors, including duplicate purchases of Digital Products.

For Physical Products, any cancellation request is subject to whether the third-party distributor has already processed or fulfilled the order. If processing has begun, cancellation may not be possible.

7) Chargebacks, Disputes, and Fraud

7.1 Disputes Do Not Override This Policy

Chargebacks and payment disputes do not change the terms of this Policy.

For Digital Products, we may present evidence of delivery (link access, delivery status, timestamps) and order verification requirements to dispute processors.

7.2 Fraud Prevention

We reserve the right to refuse service, deny delivery, and/or block access where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, resale, redistribution, or unauthorized sharing of Digital Products.

8) Policy Updates

We may update this Policy at any time. The version in effect at the time of purchase applies to that purchase.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Peak Time Garage will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the purchase or use of any product, including Digital Products and Third-Party Fulfilled Products. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for the specific product in question.

10) Governing Law / Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by the laws of New Zealand, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Any disputes arising from or related to this Policy or any purchase made through Peak Time Garage will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11) Severability

If any part of this Policy is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in full force and effect.

12) Entire Agreement (Return & Refund Policy)

This Policy sets out the full Return & Refund terms for purchases made through Peak Time Garage and applies in addition to any product-specific terms stated on the product page.
